Almost every Florida crawlspace we open needs one of two things: a vapor barrier over the ground, or a full encapsulation that seals and conditions the whole space. Everything else on this page is what we add when water, animals or old insulation are part of the problem.

Encapsulations combine a vapor barrier with a complete sealing of the crawlspace plus a dehumidifier.

Encapsulation turns a vented, humid crawlspace into a sealed, conditioned one. Liner across the floor and up the walls, every vent and gap sealed, and a dehumidifier holding the space dry. It is the most complete fix there is for a Florida crawlspace.

Vapor Barrier

The floor of a dry crawlspace.

A vapor barrier is a sturdy plastic layer that covers the crawlspace floor.

Bare Florida ground gives off moisture all year. A reinforced vapor barrier over the crawlspace floor stops that moisture at the source, which is the single biggest reason the wood above it stays dry.

Which one do I need?

Vapor barrier stops the ground. Encapsulation stops the air too.

A vapor barrier covers the floor and stops moisture coming up out of the ground. Encapsulation adds sealed vents, lined walls and a dehumidifier so the humid outside air stays out as well. If the crawlspace has had mold, rot or standing water, it almost always needs the full seal. Josh will tell you which one honestly at the inspection — the quote prices both.

Every service on this page starts the same way: Josh under the house with a camera and a moisture meter, and a written quote that prices each solution on its own.

  1. Free inspection

    During your inspection, we will enter your crawlspace to thoroughly assess what is going on. Photos, moisture readings, and hazardous risks will be collected and then delivered to the homeowner to review. We will provide our recommendation, explain your options and offer a general estimate.

  2. Written quote

    A service quote will be sent to the homeowner containing all the information and prices of each solution for the crawlspace. After review and acceptance we will schedule a good time for repair and improvement services to begin.

  3. The work

    A team will come out and begin clearing out old construction debris, and organic matter. Whether you are receiving a full encapsulation or just a clean out, we are committed to finishing each job with excellence.
